Created exclusively for TimeForArt, Louis Erard x Monica Bonvicini “Not For You” brings the artist’s sculptural use of language to the wrist. Mirror-polished lettering dominates the silver-toned Clou de Paris dial, reflecting the person looking at it. The words confront the viewer directly, while the guilloché pattern gives the dial texture and depth.
Bonvicini has used “not for you” in her work since 2006, presenting the phrase in neon and mirrored letters. In this unique watch, its message becomes intimate and personal: something the wearer carries, and others encounter.
The black leather strap carries the artist’s handwritten signature. A red seal reading “work of art – do not wear” marks it as a piece to preserve.
